SCHOLARSHIPS
The Florida Chapter of the National Association of Women Artists, Inc., nawafl.org, fosters and promotes awareness of and interest in visual art created by women in the United States. We strive to encourage contemporary and emerging artists through exhibitions of NAWA members, educational programs, and scholarships to honor and continue women's long and vital contributions to the history of American culture and art.
Eligibility: Any female student who will be graduating from a Florida High School. The candidate must be attending college in the fall of 2026 as a new or returning student majoring in Fine Arts.
Application: Please visit www.nawafl.org to download the complete application package. The completed application, including essays, images, and recommendations, can be emailed or mailed to the Scholarship Chair, whose address is listed on the application.

Scholarship Process: The NAWAFL Scholarship committee will review and evaluate all applications and select two recipients. Recipients will be notified both by mail and email. Upon acceptance to college, scholarship winners are responsible for notifying the NAWAFL Committee Chairperson of their school's acceptance. The acceptance letter should be mailed or emailed to committee chair __.

2. Images of 3-5 pieces of your original artwork (in any fine art medium; one image per piece) in jpeg format in an email attachment. Please label each image with the artist’s last name, title, medium, & dimensions (unframed). Email to:
3. Essay: Please write 3-4 paragraphs telling us why you make art, explaining your goals. Discuss your art background and process, the reasons you have chosen to pursue a degree in Fine Arts, and why you think you should be chosen as a recipient of this scholarship.
4. Letter of Recommendation: Please submit one letter of recommendation from an art instructor who knows your work well. Please include the instructor’s contact information.
